Stems to WAV: Suno track stems in studio quality

Bright 3D scene: a large translucent glass sound disc with a blue glow floats above a white matte podium, pastel sound waves radiate upward from it, with sun rays around

Track separation for Suno in the Audio section can do more than split vocals: any resulting stem — vocals, instrumental, drums, bass or any other track — can now be converted to lossless WAV. A WAV button appears next to every stem in the separation result, and it works just like the familiar full-track conversion.

Why WAV for a stem

MP3 is great for listening, but producers work with lossless formats when mixing and mastering. WAV stores audio without lossy compression: after splitting a track into stems you can build remixes, rebalance parts and render the final mix without extra re-encoding — from the first split to the final mix the sound stays at full quality. A WAV file is 5–10 times larger than the MP3 of the same track, so long compositions take noticeably more space.

How it works

  1. Open the Audio section and switch to the separation tool.
  2. Pick a track from your history and choose the separation type: “Vocals + Instrumental” or “All instruments”.
  3. When the separation finishes, the result lists the stems: vocals, instrumental, backing vocals, drums, bass, guitar, keyboards and more — the set depends on the chosen type.
  4. Each stem has two buttons: “Download” saves the stem in regular quality, and the “WAV” button converts that stem to the studio format.
  5. The finished WAV arrives through the usual conversion flow: a download link appears when it is ready.

Price and details

Converting a stem costs the same as converting a full track — 0.4 tokens per stem. Tokens are charged when the conversion starts and refunded automatically if it fails. The finished WAV is available via a link that is stored with the task for a limited time — download the file right away.

Who needs this

  • Remixes: vocals and instrumental in WAV are clean material for a new beat or arrangement.
  • Mastering: rebalance stems without regenerating the track.
  • Covers and karaoke: a full-quality instrumental without vocals.
  • Podcasts and video: separate parts for precise audio work in an editor.

FAQ

What is a stem? A separate track produced by splitting a finished song — for example, only the vocals, only the drums or only the bass.

How much does stem-to-WAV conversion cost? The same as full-track conversion — 0.4 tokens per stem.

Which stems can be converted? Any of them: vocals, instrumental, backing vocals, drums, bass, guitar, keyboards and the other stems of the “All instruments” mode.

Is the WAV quality lower than full-track conversion? No, it is the same conversion: the stem becomes a WAV under the same rules as a whole track.
