Kling 4.0: 30-Second Video, 4K HDR and 15 References
On September 28, 2026 the Kling AI team introduced Kling 4.0, a new generation of its video generation model. The lighter Kling 4.0 Flash version is already live for Ultra Yearly subscribers, while the full model is scheduled for October 2026. The biggest changes concern clip length, scene control and audio quality.
What is new in Kling 4.0
The announcement lists several major upgrades at once:
- Clips up to 30 seconds in a single generation — twice the previous 15-second limit, with continuous action inside one take.
- Up to 15 multimodal references per task: images, video clips and individual subjects that keep characters, motion, camera work and sound on track.
- Up to 10 keyframes to pin character states, scene changes and plot beats.
- Prompts up to 8,000 tokens plus automatic expansion of short descriptions.
- Video editing: add, replace or remove subjects and backgrounds, and change style, weather, color, material, shot size or viewpoint.
- Remake mode: the model reads the editing and pacing of a reference clip and builds a new video on that structure.
Audio, speech and lip sync
Kling 4.0 adds dual-channel stereo audio and tighter lip sync. Speech is supported in nine languages — Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French and Hindi — along with accents and Chinese dialects such as Cantonese. Multilingual text, emoji and logos can be rendered inside the video.
Kling 4.0 vs Kling 3.0
The difference between the generations is mostly about control and length:
- maximum clip length grew from 15 to 30 seconds;
- references per task — up to 15 instead of basic multi-reference;
- keyframes — up to 10 instead of start and end frames;
- stereo audio, speech in nine languages and Remake mode are new.
If your work fits into short 5–15 second clips, Kling 3.0 still covers it. Kling 4.0 is worth waiting for when you need one continuous 30-second take, many references in a single task, or a story laid out across keyframes.
When the full version arrives
Kling 4.0 Flash is live now, but only on the Ultra Yearly plan. The full model is planned for October 2026, no exact date has been announced, and public API pricing is not published yet. Some features are listed as coming soon: 4K and 1080p output in 10-bit HDR, and video extension in several steps to about two minutes.
