3D Gaussian splat from a photo — Tripo Splat

Bottom Line Up Front (BLUF): Upload a photo of an object — in a few minutes you get a Gaussian splat cloud with soft, realistic lighting, ready for splat viewers.

What you get

The Gaussian cloud is saved as a .splat file — the format of splat viewers (most of them can also export PLY). The file is light to download and needs no powerful computer.

JPEG, PNG or WebP up to 20 MB works; a single object on a plain background, 256×256 and larger, gives the best result.

Where it runs

Generation runs in the cloud, usually within about four minutes. The cost is shown in tokens before the start; failures return tokens.

Frequently asked questions

Why a splat instead of a mesh?

Splats capture complex materials better — hair, grass, glass, light sheens. But they are not for 3D printing or Blender editing.

Do I need a powerful PC?

No — generation happens in the cloud. Viewing a .splat only needs a browser with a splat viewer.

How is this different from the free splat tool?

The free TripoSplat runs on your device and needs a 6.5 GB download; the cloud version is simpler and works on any computer.
