How to use Seedance: a step-by-step guide
Seedance 2.5 is simple, but beginners often have questions: where to upload references, how to pick the duration and where to download the result. Here is a short step-by-step guide.
Step 1. Open the model page
Go to the Seedance 2.5 page and sign in. If you have no account, register — it takes a minute. You can start generating right after you sign in.
Step 2. Write the prompt
In the prompt field, describe the scene: who is in frame, what happens, what the lighting and camera are. You do not need to write a lot — a short, specific description is enough. If you want sound, turn on the audio toggle.
Step 3. Upload references
If you need to keep a character, product or style, upload images, video or audio. The files get names like @Image1, @Video1, @Audio1 and can be mentioned in the prompt. Their order is shown beside the uploader.

Step 4. Choose the settings
Set the duration from 4 to 30 seconds, the resolution (480p, 720p or 1080p) and the aspect ratio. Vertical framing suits Reels and Shorts, landscape suits YouTube and ads. The final cost is shown before you start.
Step 5. Generate and download
Start the generation and wait for it to finish. The clip appears in the results list, where you can download it as MP4 or MOV. If the last-frame option is on, you also get the final frame as a separate image — handy for the next clip.
FAQ
How long does generation take?
Usually from a few dozen seconds to a couple of minutes, depending on length and resolution.
Can I cancel a generation?
If the clip has not started rendering, you can cancel the task; once it starts, the charge has already happened.
What format is the video downloaded in?
MP4 or MOV — the format is chosen in the settings before you start.
