Claude Code without a subscription: vibe coding through the NeuralSpace API
Claude Code is a vibe-coding agent that writes and edits code right inside your project. It usually needs a subscription, but there is a way without one: connect the Claude models through the NeuralSpace MCP server and pay only for the tokens you actually use.
How it works
NeuralSpace exposes the Claude models through a public API and an MCP server at POST /mcp (Streamable HTTP). An MCP client — Claude Code, Cursor or another agent — calls the chat tool with model and prompt parameters and receives the model answer. There is no subscription: only tokens for real requests are charged.
Which models are available
The MCP server exposes Claude Haiku 4.5, Claude Sonnet 5, Claude Opus 5 and Claude Fable 5. Haiku suits fast, high-volume edits, Sonnet suits everyday code work, Opus suits complex reasoning and long tasks, and Fable suits creative writing. Use the list_models tool for the model and price list and get_balance to check funds.

How to connect
Sign up on NeuralSpace and create an nsk-… key on the API keys page. Then set the MCP server address https://neuralspace.pro/mcp and the key in your MCP client settings. After that the agent can call the Claude models directly.
What this gives you
You pay only for the tokens you actually spend, not a fixed plan. For irregular work this is often cheaper than a subscription: there is no monthly payment, and the balance is topped up as needed. Full documentation is on the /v1/docs page.
