How the correction is calculated

Apple specifies an approximately 120° field of view for 0.5×. From the image diagonal D = √(W²+H²), the equivalent focal length in pixels is f = D / (2·tan(FOV/2)).

Coordinates are calculated in real pixels: p=((u−0.5)·W, (v−0.5)·H). Width and height are therefore handled directly instead of treating the image as a square.

The original 0.5× image is treated as a rectilinear projection r=f·tan(θ). A stereographic projection r=2F·tan(θ/2) is used for more natural edge geometry and better local shape preservation.

The correction is radially symmetric in pixel coordinates, so X and Y are not warped independently. The slider smoothly blends the original image with the corrected projection.
